A lady caused a stir at a busy market on Thursday after loudly advising younger women to avoid relationships with men aged 40 and above, citing concerns about character and alleged spiritual issues.
The incident, which drew a large crowd watching happened in the afternoon as traders and buyers paused to listen to her bold claims, sparking mixed reactions among onlookers.
Public outburst sparks debate
Witnesses said the woman repeatedly raised her voice, insisting that older men should be left alone, as many of them allegedly carry emotional baggage and questionable lifestyles.
According to traders nearby, some people supported her stance while others dismissed her claims as unfair generalisation, noting that age does not define a person’s behaviour or intentions.
“I’m telling all of you, don’t marry any man that is 40 years and above. They are red flags. Most of them have spiritual wives and bad character. Let them remain single,” she said.
“Don’t even try dating them, not to talk of marriage. You will regret it. I have seen it happen many times, and I’m warning you now so you don’t fall into the same trap,” she added.
Mixed reactions trail statement
The outburst has since generated conversations among residents, with some linking it to past relationship experiences and societal beliefs surrounding age differences in marriage.
A similar incident was recorded in 2023 when a relationship coach warned against large age gaps in marriages, though experts later argued that compatibility matters more than age.
While the woman’s identity remains unknown, her statements have continued to trend among locals, highlighting ongoing debates about relationships and societal expectations.
