The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned social media influencer Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, over an alleged ₦13 million fraud in Lagos….

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has once again arraigned social media influencer Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, over an alleged ₦13 million fraud in Lagos.

The defendant was brought before Justice Yelim Bogoro of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi on Wednesday by the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 2.

According to the anti-graft agency, Blessing CEO is facing a six-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and retaining proceeds of crime.

The EFCC alleged that the charges followed multiple petitions from individuals and organisations, including the Nigeria Cancer Society, over claims that the influencer solicited donations online by stating she was battling Stage 4 breast cancer.

Investigators, however, alleged that the medical documents presented to the public were falsified.

The commission said the case forms part of its ongoing efforts to clamp down on fraud and protect members of the public from deceptive online schemes.

Further proceedings in the case are expected as the court continues hearing on the matter.

This is her third arraignment in the last few days with the last just being 24 hours ago.
