Governor of Kaduna State and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the Ekiti State Governorship Election, Uba Sani, has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his re-election in the 2026 Ekiti State governorship poll held on Saturday.

In a statement via his X handle on Sunday, June 21, Sani described the outcome as a clear validation of Oyebanji’s leadership style, governance record, and commitment to inclusive development in Ekiti State.

He said the victory reflected the confidence of the electorate in continuity and progressive governance.

“On behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the Ekiti State Governorship Election, I extend my warmest congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his emphatic and well-deserved victory in the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election, having secured a decisive 319,224 votes to earn a renewed mandate from the good people of Ekiti State,” he said.

Sani noted that the result represented a strong endorsement of the governor’s performance in office.

“This remarkable and resounding victory stands as a powerful affirmation of his performance in office, his inclusive style of leadership, and his steadfast commitment to the progress, stability, and development of Ekiti State,” he said.

He also commended residents of Ekiti State for what he called a wise electoral decision, saying they had reaffirmed trust in leadership focused on welfare and shared prosperity.

The Kaduna governor linked the outcome to ongoing federal reforms under President Bola Tinubu, arguing that policy interventions had enabled state governments to deliver more development outcomes to citizens.

Sani further praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, election observers, journalists, and other stakeholders for ensuring a peaceful and credible election.

He said their professionalism had strengthened public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic process and institutions.

Calling for post-election unity, Sani urged political actors across party lines to support the governor’s administration in the interest of Ekiti’s development.

“Democracy flourishes best when elections are viewed not as an end in themselves but as opportunities for collective advancement and shared progress,” he stated.

He also appreciated members of the APC campaign council, governors, lawmakers, and party stakeholders for their roles in securing victory for the party.

Sani concluded by wishing Governor Oyebanji and the people of Ekiti State continued peace, prosperity, and development.
