A resurfaced video showing a 74-year-old woman being carried into an airport’s baggage area has attracted attention online.
The incident happened at Vladikavkaz Airport in Russia on January 5, 2025.
The elderly passenger was preparing to travel from Vladikavkaz to Moscow when she became confused near the check-in desk.
CCTV footage shows her climbing onto the baggage weighing area before stepping onto the moving conveyor belt.
She appeared to mistake the belt for a walkway or an escalator leading towards the boarding area.
The woman lost her balance and fell onto her back as the belt carried her through a rubber curtain and into the airport’s baggage sorting section.
Workers behind the check-in desk were assisting another passenger and did not immediately notice what had happened.
Another traveller alerted them after seeing the woman disappear behind the curtain.
Airport employees stopped the equipment and rescued her from the baggage handling area.
No serious physical injuries were reported. However, airport officials said she had high blood pressure and an elevated pulse after the incident.
Medical workers examined her, and an ambulance was called to the airport.
The airport later explained that the woman’s relatives had asked employees to assist her because her age and health made it difficult for her to find her way around.
A worker reportedly escorted her to a seat near the check-in desk. She left the waiting area a few minutes later and approached the conveyor belt.
The airport apologised for the incident and said the passenger received the necessary assistance.
The video first circulated in January 2025. It was reposted on Instagram in July 2026 and has attracted millions of views.
