Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno has secured the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general election, with a pledge to deepen governance and service delivery if re-elected.
Speaking shortly after the primary election held at Government Primary School, Ikot Akpabin, Governor Eno described the endorsement as a renewed mandate for greater responsibility and assured party members that his administration would intensify efforts to deliver on its development agenda.
He said his government would undertake a fresh assessment of the ARISE Agenda to identify implementation gaps and introduce corrective measures, while hinting at the rollout of an enhanced “ARISE Agenda 2.0” to sustain development across the state.
The governor expressed gratitude to God and the people of Akwa Ibom, noting that the emergence of a sole governorship candidate under the party marked what he described as a significant political moment in the state’s history.
Governor Eno commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and members of the National Assembly for reforms to the electoral process, which he said had strengthened internal democracy and promoted transparency in party primaries.
Reaffirming support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid and Senator Akpabio’s continued leadership in the Senate, Eno called on political actors to embrace issue-based campaigns and avoid divisive politics capable of overheating the political atmosphere ahead of 2027.
