Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has announced a package of cash rewards and land allocations for players and officials of Rangers International FC following the club’s successful 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title-winning campaign.
The governor unveiled the incentives after receiving the league champions in Enugu on Wednesday, describing their achievement as a source of immense pride for the state.
Under the reward package, each player will receive a plot of land in Enugu, while the squad will share a cash reward of ₦100 million. The club’s management was also awarded ₦50 million, with additional plots of land allocated to the general manager, secretary, head coach and assistant coach.
Announcing the rewards via his X handle, Mbah said the team had fully deserved the recognition for bringing the league trophy back to Enugu.

“What a season. What a team. They brought the trophy home again in style.
“As a token of that appreciation, I announced a plot of land in Enugu for each player, a cash reward of ₦100 million for the team, ₦50 million for the management, and additional plots of land for the general manager, secretary, coach, and assistant coach. They have earned it, every bit of it.
“This is what pride in Enugu looks like. This is what belief in our own looks like. And today, I am truly happy,” the governor stated.
Rangers secured their ninth NPFL crown on the final day of the season after defeating Ikorodu City FC 2-1 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Sunday.
The victory drew the Flying Antelopes level with Enyimba as the most successful clubs in the history of the Nigerian top flight, with nine league titles each.
The championship was decided in one of the closest title races in recent years, as Rangers edged out Rivers United, who also won their final fixture 3-0 against Katsina United but finished behind the Enugu-based side in the standings.
With the triumph, Rangers and Rivers United have qualified to represent Nigeria in next season’s CAF Champions League, while Shooting Stars Sports Club earned a place in the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing third.
The latest title further strengthened Rangers’ reputation as one of Nigeria’s most decorated football clubs and added another chapter to the club’s rich history.
