A former Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo has purchased the nomination form to contest for the Kano North senatorial seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The development was disclosed on Wednesday by his aide on social media, Mansoor Man’ash, in a post announcing Gwarzo’s entry into the race.
According to the statement, a member of the House of Representatives representing Gwarzo and Kabo Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdullahi Mu’azu Baban Gandu, alongside a former Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Area, Hon. Hassan Garban Kauye Farawa, are currently in possession of the nomination form on his behalf.
The Kano North senatorial seat is presently occupied by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, making the anticipated contest one of the most closely watched political battles in the state ahead of 2027.
