Governor Uba Sani has paid tribute to the late human rights icon, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, describing him as one of the foremost figures in Nigeria’s democratic struggle whose sacrifices laid the foundation for the country’s democratic journey.
The Kaduna State governor said no one who genuinely participated in the fight for democracy could overlook Fawehinmi’s commitment to justice and the rule of law.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Uba Sani reflected on his years as a pro-democracy activist, recalling that he was among those detained during the military era before Nigeria returned to civilian rule.
