The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has debunked claims that former Governor Kayode Fayemi is plotting to destabilise the celebration or poach members by way of secret conferences.
The celebration’s State Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, issued an announcement on Sunday, July 20, dismissing the hearsay as baseless and the work of mischief-makers.
“We are not perturbed. We are now in a season of propaganda, characterised by spewing of lies and telling half-truths to confuse the people,” Dipe stated.
“Any busybody who yearns to know what is happening in our party is free to contact me as the spokesperson of the party and they would be reliably informed, rather than looking for gutter gists,” he added.
Dipe was responding to studies that Governor Biodun Oyebanji and APC leaders had rejected a stakeholders’ assembly allegedly convened by Fayemi to courtroom members of the African Democratic Congress.
