The Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Chief Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, has been installed as the Yeye Majewoja of Akure Land by the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi.
The colourful installation ceremony was held at the Deji’s Palace in Akure, Ondo State, and attracted traditional rulers, government officials, business leaders and other prominent Nigerians.
Chief Tinubu-Ojo was honoured with the prestigious chieftaincy title in recognition of her contributions to the growth of trading activities and her efforts to promote the welfare and economic interests of traders across Nigeria.
The ceremony featured traditional rites and cultural displays, adding colour and grandeur to the occasion.
Guests at the event paid tribute to the new Yeye Majewoja, describing her elevation as recognition of her service to the trading community and her role in promoting commerce and economic development.
Among those who attended were the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Housing Authority, Oyetunde Ojo, and the Executive Director, Corporate Services of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Ifedayo Abegunde.
The conferment highlights the role of traditional institutions in recognising individuals who contribute to economic and community development, particularly through their engagement with Nigeria’s trading and business communities.
