Four members of the House of Representatives from Ogun State have lost their return tickets in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries following the party’s consensus arrangement.
Among those affected is the Deputy Chief Whip, Isiaka Ibrahim, representing Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, who was seeking a fourth term.
Isiaka lost the ticket to the immediate past Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Motunrayo Adeleye.
The lawmaker accused Governor Dapo Abiodun of imposing an “affirmation” process in favour of a preferred aspirant.
According to Punch, Isiaka alleged, “There was no primary election in my federal constituency, because my governor didn’t allow it. He only gave a directive for an affirmation of his anointed candidate.
“I did not lose my primary election because none existed.”
Isiaka also circulated videos alleging irregular counting and multiple voting during the exercise.
He said, “Despite being the sole candidate for the governor, see the counting on the line… 1, 12, 40, 100… No membership cards.
“At Isheri Ojodu, once you’re counted in the front, you go back to line up again.”
Other incumbents who lost include Abiodun Akinlade of Ipokia/Yewa South, who was seeking a fifth term; Tunji Akinosi of Ado-Odo/Ota; Femi Ogunbanwo of Odogbolu/Ijebu Ode/Ijebu North East; and Adesola Elegbeji of Remo Federal Constituency.
Those who secured tickets include Joseph Adegbesan for Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside; Daddah for Ijebu Ode/Ijebu North East/Odogbolu; Funmi Efuwape for Ikenne/Remo North/Sagamu; Adijat Adeleye for Ifo/Ewekoro; and Toyin Taiwo for Ipokia/Yewa South.
Others are Afolabi Afuape for Abeokuta South; Olumide Osoba for Abeokuta North/Odeda/Obafemi-Owode; Gboyega Isiaka for Imeko-Afon/Yewa North; and Ayobami Bashorun for Ado-Odo/Ota.
