The Murtala Muhammed Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has recorded ₦202.9 billion in income between January and December 2025, marking a 13% improve in comparison with the ₦181.01 billion generated in 2024.
Comptroller G.A. Otunla, Customs Area Controller, introduced that the Command achieved 113% of its annual income goal, attributing the success to improved dealer compliance, efficient monitoring of import transactions, well timed detection of irregularities, and measures to curb income leakages.
He praised the dedication of officers, collaboration with sister businesses, and the help of compliant merchants and licensed customs brokers, noting that these elements have been key to the Command’s excellent efficiency.
Comptroller Otunla reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and steady stakeholder engagement, aligning with the Nigeria Customs Service’s mandate to facilitate commerce and generate income.
