Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has called on media practitioners across the country to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and patriotism in promoting accountability, transparency and national development.

This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Monday.

The Governor made the call while declaring open the Arewa Media Summit in Kano, where he described the gathering as a timely platform for journalists, broadcasters, filmmakers, digital content creators, academics and policymakers to exchange ideas on strengthening governance and public trust.

Governor Yusuf said the theme of the summit, “Government, Citizens: Accountability, Responsibility and Ethical Media Practice,” reflects the critical role of the media in sustaining democracy and fostering constructive engagement between government and the people.
