Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has laid a foundation for the construction of a mega Secondary School at Kaura Goge, Nasarawa Local Government.
A statement issued by Mustapha Muhammad, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, on Sunday said the school, when completed, would replace the famous Maikwatashi school that was dilapidated and suffered encroachment and parts of the land was fraudulently sold off by unscrupulous people.
Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf said he had handed over the ownership of Maikwatashi school to the Kano State Colleges of Arts and Islamic Studies (CAS) in view to utilize it for educational purposes.
Governor Abba, in his speech, stated that the construction of this school will ease the suffering of students in the area who had to travel as far as Sabon Gari to attend school.

“There are a huge number of students in this area that had to go to Sabongari for schooling, that’s why we want to build a school here.”
The Governor urged the residents of the area to cooperate with the contractor and warned the contractor to do a very good job.
Earlier in his address, the commissioner for education, Goni Ali Haruna Makoda, said the mega school will cost N1.3 billion.
SolaceBase reports that the school will house 32 classrooms, 36 toilets, and 4 libraries, among other structures.
