Gov. Yusuf mourns death of BUK communication scholar, Dr. Musa Labaran

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned communication scholar, Musa Adamu Labaran, who passed away on Sunday after a brief illness.

Dr. Labaran, a lecturer at the Faculty of Communication, Bayero University Kano, was described by the governor as a respected academic whose contributions to communication studies and media scholarship left a lasting impact on society.

In a condolence message issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf said the late scholar devoted his life to teaching, research, and mentoring students and professionals across the country.

The governor noted that Dr. Labaran’s commitment to intellectual development, public discourse, and knowledge dissemination earned him admiration within academic and media circles.

According to the statement, the governor described the scholar’s death as a painful loss not only to the academic community but also to the media profession and the wider society.

He added that the deceased left behind a legacy of excellence, integrity, and selfless service, stressing that his absence would create a vacuum in academia and the communication profession.

Governor Yusuf prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late scholar and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
