Former Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar Adamu has alleged irregularities and a manipulation plan in the ongoing governorship election held across the state.
The Director General of Abubakar Adamu campaign organisation, Barrister Musa Husseini, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Lafia, the state capital.
The Director General said that Muhammed Abubakar Adamu recorded an overwhelming victory in an ongoing governorship primary, but there was an attempt to manipulate the outcome of the result to favour the government’s preferred aspirant, Senator Aliyu Ahmed Wadada.
According to Barrister Musa Husseini,” Our attention has been drawn to ongoing attempts to create confusion around the outcome of the governorship primary election conducted on the 21st May, 2026, across Nassarawa state.
“We wish to state clearly that the retired Inspector-General of Police, Muhammad Abubakar Adamu, recorded a decisive and overwhelming victory across the state where the election was peacefully and successfully conducted.
“The result available from the ward and local government areas where voting took place clearly reflects the will of the party members and demonstrated the massive support enjoyed by our candidate across the state,” he said.
Barrister Musa Husseini also called on the APC electoral committee to remain firm, impartial, and committed to justice by upholding the genuine result as obtained at the ward polling and collation centers.
He further advised the committee to resist every form of pressure, intimidation, or attempt to manipulate the democratic process.
The DG strongly condemned the report of hijacking and interference with the election result sheets by some officials of the Nassarawa state government in some local government areas.
When contacted publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress APC in Nasarawa Mr. Augustine Ogaba, to get his reaction on the allegation, he declined comment.
