Professor Usman Yusuf has praised the Nigerian Armed Forces for rescuing the widow of retired Major General Rabiu Abubakar following the death of the senior officer in bandit captivity, saying the operation demonstrated the military’s capability when properly deployed.
Speaking during an interview on SYMFONI, Yusuf reflected on the tragic abduction of the retired general and his wife, describing the incident as one that deeply angered military personnel and residents of Katsina State.
According to Yusuf, efforts were made by various stakeholders, including community elders, clerics, traditional rulers and security officials, to secure the release of the former military officer. However, those efforts were ultimately unsuccessful before the general died in captivity......>>
