Thousands of APC members across Yobe State who participated in the party’s primary elections openly demonstrated overwhelming support and confidence in the APC preferred gubernatorial aspirant for the 2027 general elections, Baba Malam Wali.
The primary elections, conducted through direct elections involving party members with valid APC membership cards, witnessed massive participation and strong expressions of solidarity toward Baba Malam Wali across the three senatorial zones of the state.
Results from the 178 wards affirmed that APC faithfuls in the state have given the mandate to Baba Malam Wali as their flagbearer in the 2027 gubernatorial elections.
Party supporters and APC members expressed optimism and confidence that Baba Malam Wali possesses the leadership qualities, experience, and political capacity required to sustain the developmental strides achieved under the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni.
Observers described the level of support shown by ordinary party members during the exercise as a clear reflection of the mood within the APC in the state, noting that the direct primary system provided an opportunity for members at the grassroots to openly demonstrate where their support lies.
The peaceful conduct of the exercise and the maturity displayed by party members were also commended by stakeholders, who described Yobe APC as one of the most united and organized chapters of the ruling party in the Country.
In a statement issued after the exercise by the Baba Malam Wali Media Team, circulated by Abdulmumini Kolo Gulani said that the aspirant appreciated APC members across the state for their continued trust, loyalty, and overwhelming support for his aspirations.
He described the massive show of solidarity by party members as a sign of unity, confidence, and shared commitment towards the continued peace, stability, and development of the state.
He called on all those who contested against him to join hands with him and the greater APC family towards improving the quality of life of the people of the state.
Baba Malam Wali also congratulated all candidates who emerged victorious during the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly primaries, including the incumbent Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, Senator Mohammed Ibrahim Bomoi, Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan.
He further urged APC members to remain peaceful, united, and law-abiding while continuing to support the party’s vision and leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Today’s exercise has clearly shown that APC members across Yobe State are united and committed to the progress of our party. Their overwhelming support and encouragement remain a source of strength and motivation for us all”, he said.
