In continuation of his consultations with party leaders in the state, the governorship hopeful under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat has shifted his visitation to the traditional rulers in the state.
He started with the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Aremu Osuolale Akiolu, where Hazmat paid homage to the monarch at his Oga Idunganran Palace, Lagos Island.
Hamzat who was accompanied by political heavy weights in the APC, included Senator Muslim Obanikoro, Senator Ganiyu Solomon and Honourable Rasaq Ajala. Others include Chief Bode Oyedele.
Oba Akiolu who received Hamzat with enthusiasm prayed for the success of Hamzat’s political ambition, described him as a typical Omoluabi.
Later in the day, the entourage visited the former Federal Commissioner for Works, during General Yakubu Gowon’s administration, Alhaji Femi Okunnu, who also expressed his appreciation for the visit. He also praised Hamzat for his humility, dedication to Lagos’ overall development.
In the same breath, Dr. Hamzat visited Adejoke Orelope Adefulure, a former Commissioner in Lagos State, and currently
Orelope -Adefulure, who is also the incumbent Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SSAP-SDGs), equally expressed her delight for the visit. “My husband and I were so happy to receive this August visitor. We have confidence in your capacity. We have gone a long way in this political trajectory by which I can say unequivocally that you will never disappoint Lagosians.
She also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing not only leadership, but also, steering the ship of Nigeria towards a safe haven.
“Asiwaju took bold decisions, which appeared difficult for people to bear at the beginning of his administration.But today, the narratives are changing. Infrastructural development, Dogged fight against insecurity and a dedicated economic redesigning”, she said.
Urging party members to ensure that they play their civic responsibilities to ensure a resounding victory during the 2027 elections.
