A woman residing in the United States has issued a public appeal for support for a Ghanaian man reportedly homeless in Manhattan, New York, saying he is originally from Korle Gonno in Accra and is currently stranded and struggling.
“Please, he needs help. He is from Korle Gonno but is currently homeless here in Manhattan, New York,” she said in a video shared online, drawing attention to his situation and appealing to the Ghanaian community abroad and at home for assistance.
The man was seen seated on a Manhattan sidewalk in footage accompanying the appeal. His identity, the circumstances that led to his homelessness, and further details about his current situation and any support he may already be receiving have not been independently verified.
Currently, this is the most used pattern Ghanaians in the diaspora are using through social media to mobilize support for compatriots facing hardship abroad, often connecting stranded or vulnerable individuals with community networks, consular assistance, or organizations able to provide shelter, medical care, or repatriation support.
