A Nigerian lady has shared her frustrating experience after a man who approached her on TikTok allegedly blocked her after she sent him money.
According to her, she was minding her business when the man reached out via direct message and asked her to visit him, but she declined due to safety concerns.
Expressing herself in vernacular, she said:
“I was on my own when this guy DMed me on TikTok. If I hadn’t replied, they would say I have pride. He told me to pay him a visit, but I said I can’t come due to safety reasons, because a lot of things are happening lately.”
She explained that she insisted he should visit her first so her people could see him before she considers going to his place.
However, the man claimed he didn’t have transport money, which led her to send him ₦5,000.
“I told him to come and pay me a visit first, let my people see you. When they do, I can now come over to your place. That was how he said he doesn’t have transport, so I sent him ₦5k. Immediately he received the money, this guy blocked me everywhere,” she added.
The incident has since sparked reactions online, with many users sharing their opinions on the situation.
One user wrote, “She learned the hard way. Why would you even send money to a stranger?” Another commented, “He came for transport money and disappeared. Classic scam move.”
Her story has continued to generate conversations online, with many advising caution when dealing with strangers on social media and warning against sending money to people you’ve never met.
