A video of a young Nigerian woman openly admitting she uses the dangerous hard drug known as Mkpuru Mmiri (crystal methamphetamine) has taken over social media, leaving many people shocked and worried.
In the clip, the lady looks straight at the camera and says calmly: “I won’t lie, I do take drugs. The one they call Mpuimiri (Meth) that makes people mad but I am not mad.” Her words have sparked heated discussions online, with thousands sharing the video and calling for help for her. Mkpuru Mmiri, also called “ice” or crystal meth, is a very strong stimulant drug that has become a big problem, especially in the South East part of Nigeria. Many young people now use it, and experts say it is fuelling violence, mental health issues, and insecurity in the region. The drug is highly addictive and can cause users to become aggressive, paranoid, or even lose touch with reality after some time.
In the video, the woman insists the drug has not driven her crazy, even though she knows what it does to others. Many who watched it say she actually looks affected and needs urgent help. “This beautiful girl needs serious intervention,” one person commented. Others blamed the easy availability of the drug and the pressure on youths.
