The Anti-Corruption Group (ACG) of the Community Development Service (CDS) in the Osun State directorate of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in collaboration with Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) have warned against corrupt acts at all levels.
This is even as the groups organized quiz and debate competition for corps members in Osogbo Local Government Area of the state.
The event held at Ataoja School of Science aimed at promoting anti-corruption awareness, digital literacy and sustainable development among corps members.
The event brought together various CDS groups in an atmosphere of healthy intellectual engagement and teamwork.
Participants debated on the topic: “Is Digital Literacy a More Effective Shield Against Corruption Than Traditional Moral Re-orientation?”
Speakers at the event emphasized the growing importance of technology and digital awareness in tackling corruption, noting that digital systems help promote transparency, accountability and easy access to information.
Others argued that moral re-orientation, integrity, and ethical values remain essential in shaping responsible citizens and reducing corrupt practices in society.
The programme also featured quiz session which focused on anti-corruption, civic responsibility, sustainable development goals and national values.
At the end of the event, SERVICOM CDS emerged as the overall winner of the debate and quiz competition after a strong performance across all categories. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) CDS secured second position, while Education CDS finished in third place following a commendable outing.
The organizers commended all participating groups for their efforts and encouraged corps members to continue promoting integrity, accountability, and national development through active community engagement.
The event further reflected the commitment of the and the toward sensitizing young Nigerians on the dangers of corruption and the importance of building a more transparent and responsible society.
