IED Explosion: Sokoto Deputy Gov attends funeral prayer for 3 soldiers

Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir, has attended the funeral prayer for the three soldiers who died in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion during a security operation in Isa Local Government Area.

The funeral prayer was held at the Giginya Barracks, Sokoto

The Deputy Governor who was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Sifawa, condoled with the Nigerian Army and the families of the deceased soldiers over the loss.

He described the deceased as patriots who lost their lives while protecting the lives and property of members of the community from the threat of bandits.

The Deputy Governor who represented Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto prayed to Allah to grant the departed souls eternal rest and give their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He later visited the Giginya Barracks Clinic, where he sympathised with the injured soldiers receiving treatment there.

Alhaji Idris Gobir reiterated the State Government’s commitment to standing with security personnel in the fight against banditry and other forms of criminality.

He also pledged continued support and assistance to troops to ensure lasting peace in the state.
