Human rights activist and the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential hopeful, Omoyele Sowore, has outlined what his administration would focus on immediately if he becomes president in 2027, stressing urgent reforms in electricity, security, education, and healthcare.
Speaking on his proposed agenda, Sowore said his government would move swiftly on key national challenges from the first day in office.
“I’ll start growing electricity on the first day, we’ll be fighting to ensure that this security problem is resolved immediately, you know, using technology, using medium and long-term, whatever strategy we can use.
We are going to start funding education on the first day, we are going to start funding health care, we are fixing our rules, starting from the first day.
You are not going to see me on the, in fact, if anybody puts a newspaper advert celebrating my 100 days in office, I’ll find the person, hunt the person down, and make sure that you never do that nonsense again.
And if you are in my cabinet, you are fired on that day. That means you don’t have work for you to wait for 100 days before you are counting 100 days. People are already dying before they, you know, you are elected into office.
So it’s going to be all of these starting at the same time because no one single solution can solve Nigeria’s problem. That would be a set of solutions.”
He maintained that Nigeria’s challenges require simultaneous interventions rather than delayed or phased responses, arguing that citizens cannot afford long waiting periods before reforms begin to take effect.
