A Nigerian man has shared a story about a woman who reportedly dumped her husband after he lost his good-paying job and later described herself as a widow while filling out a company travel form.
‘My Uncle Was Earning ₦750,000 Monthly’
The story was shared by @mikeliberation on X, formerly Twitter, who claimed that his uncle previously earned ₦750,000 monthly before losing his job.
The uncle reportedly struggled to find another job and eventually started working as a truck driver for a pure water factory, earning ₦50,000 monthly.
“My uncle was earning ₦750,000 monthly before he lost his job,” the X user wrote.
He explained that after months of searching for employment, the man took up the truck-driving job despite the significant reduction in his income.
“After months of searching, he started driving a truck for a pure water factory and earned only ₦50,000 per month,” he stated.
The situation reportedly affected the couple’s living arrangements when their rent expired.
“When their rent expired, he couldn’t afford it and moved to the village,” the post read.
Wife Earns ₦500,000 and Rents Another Apartment
The uncle’s wife was later promoted at her workplace and began earning ₦500,000 monthly.
“His wife got promoted and began earning ₦500,000 a month,” the X user wrote.
He claimed that the woman subsequently rented another apartment but refused to allow her husband to live with her.
“His wife rented another apartment and refused to let him stay with her,” he stated.
‘She Claimed She Was a Widow’
The situation took another turn when the woman’s company reportedly organised an overseas trip for employees and their spouses.
The X user said the woman filled out the travel form but claimed she was a widow.
“Last month, her company organized an overseas trip for employees and their spouses.
“She filled out the form and claimed she was a widow,” he wrote.
She Breaks Both Legs in Accident
The woman was reportedly involved in an accident while heading to the airport for the trip.
“On her way to the airport, she was involved in an accident and broke both legs,” the X user stated.
‘The Same Husband She Called a Widow’
Despite their marital difficulties, the uncle reportedly became the person caring for her after the accident.
“For the past one month, the same husband she called a widow over has been the one caring for her in the hospital,” he wrote.
