A Nigerian lady identified as Dimma Abigail has sparked reactions online after expressing frustration over her struggle to understand Catholic Church services after marrying into a Catholic family.
In a Facebook post, Dimma, who described herself as a pastor’s daughter raised in a Pentecostal church, said she has found it difficult to adapt to the Catholic way of worship despite trying.
‘I’ve Tried My Best to Understand’
According to her, attending church regularly had always been important to her, but her difficulty with understanding the Catholic service has affected how often she now attends church.
“I’m a pastor’s daughter, born and brought up in a Pentecostal church and married into a Catholic family,” she wrote.
“Since I started attending Catholic Church, I don’t understand what they’re doing there. I’ve tried my best to understand, but it’s not working out.”
‘I’ve Only Been to Church Three Times This Year’
Dimma said she was previously the type of person who felt the need to attend church every Sunday but had only attended three services so far this year.
“I’m the type of person who must go to church every Sunday, but see me now, I’ve only been to church three times this year,” she stated.
She explained that two of those services were held at an Anglican Church, which she said she was able to understand.
“I attended an Anglican Church twice and understood everything, but you see Catholic Church is a no for me,” she said.
‘I’m Tired’
The young woman said she attended a Catholic Church again but remained unable to understand the service, leaving her frustrated about whether she would eventually adapt.
“I attended Catholic Church today but I don’t understand anything. I’m tired. Una sure say I will learn anything there,” she wrote.
Her post has since sparked reactions online, with many social media users sharing their opinions about her struggle to adjust to the Catholic style of worship.
