Kola Ologbondiyan, a former Nationwide Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), believes the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) just isn’t proof against the form of political shake-up presently rocking the PDP.
Ologbondiyan was talking on Come up Tv on Wednesday, April 30, reacting to the wave of defections that hit the PDP earlier within the week, notably in Delta State, the place Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his predecessor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, formally joined the APC.
Their exit, after over 20 years of PDP dominance within the state, left the social gathering’s construction in shambles. And simply days later, Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno hinted that he too may go away the opposition social gathering.
Whereas the scenario has stirred nervousness throughout the PDP, Ologbondiyan downplayed the disaster, describing it as typical political realignment forward of elections.
“It’s the PDP bell that’s ringing now, and all people is speaking about mass defection. I can guarantee you that very quickly, it’s going to start out from the APC,” he stated.
He reminded viewers that he had beforehand predicted this sort of turbulence throughout social gathering strains.

Based on him, the APC is already exhibiting indicators of inner pressure. He pointed to cracks inside two main blocs that merged to type the social gathering, the Motion Congress of Nigeria (ACN), led by President Bola Tinubu, and the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), led by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Whilst you converse immediately, you probably have your ears to the bottom within the All Progressives Congress, you’re already conscious that the Motion Congress of Nigeria (ACN), which the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu led into the APC is in tatters, and that’s the fact.
“And I’m positive you noticed not too long ago when the CPC, the arm that former President Muhammadu Buhari led into the APC, agitation began.
“Some persons are saying oh, we won’t go, we’ll keep in APC, we won’t go away. Some persons are saying oh, you can not converse for us. All these accounts level to at least one truth, implosion is coming.”
To him, the defections within the PDP are simply a part of the broader electoral season, the place politicians naturally shift alliances.
“So allow us to sit by and watch the sport because it performs out so it’s not a PDP affair alone, it’s one thing that can go spherical,” he stated.
