The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced a two-day technical workshop with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) to strengthen public communication ahead of the 2027 general elections.

INEC disclosed this in a statement via its X handle on Monday, August 24, 2026, saying the workshop is being held from Monday to Tuesday, August 25.

The commission said the initiative is focused on reviewing and improving its Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to provide voters and other citizens with clear and accessible information about Nigeria’s electoral process.

According to INEC, the workshop is part of efforts to improve public communication and ensure that citizens are better informed ahead of the 2027 elections.

“The workshop is focused on reviewing and strengthening INEC’s Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to ensure that citizens have access to clear, accurate and easy-to-understand information about Nigeria’s electoral process,” the commission said.

INEC said the collaboration with IFES would also contribute to efforts aimed at promoting informed citizen participation and building public confidence in the electoral process.

It added that the initiative was being supported by the United Kingdom.

“The initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance public communication, promote informed citizen participation and strengthen public trust in the electoral process,” INEC said.
