Iran attacks Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, IRGC fires drones and missiles; Explosions reported at US bases

Tensions between the United States and Iran have reportedly spread across the Gulf region. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it launched drone and missile attacks on American military bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan.

According to Iranian claims, several ballistic missiles and drones were fired at US military facilities. Air defence systems across the region were activated, and reports of explosions emerged from different locations.

Rising Tensions After Hormuz Strait Incident

The latest escalation follows an incident in which Iran claimed a US Apache helicopter was shot down near the Strait of Hormuz. In response, US forces reportedly carried out strikes on radar, air defence and surveillance sites in southern Iran, including areas around Jask, Sirik and Qeshm Island.

Iran then announced that it would launch retaliatory action.

Bahrain: US Fifth Fleet Headquarters Targeted

Iran says its largest attack was aimed at the headquarters of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.

The IRGC claimed that drones and missiles were launched at around 2:30am local time. Iranian media reported that at least one missile struck a US military site.

Following the attack, Bahrain’s Interior Ministry reportedly activated warning sirens across the country and urged residents to move to safe locations. Local reports suggested that more than 16 explosions were heard.

However, US officials have not yet confirmed any major damage or casualties.

Kuwait Air Base Reportedly Attacked

The IRGC also claimed responsibility for drone attacks on Kuwait, targeting the Ali Al Salem Air Base, an important facility used by the US Air Force.

Kuwaiti military officials said their air defence systems were intercepting incoming aerial threats. Reports from the country also mentioned several explosions.

Authorities advised residents to follow safety instructions while the situation was being assessed.

Iran has accused the United States of using military facilities in Kuwait to support operations against Iran.

Jordan Says Missiles Were Intercepted

Jordan’s military said it successfully intercepted five missiles that were heading towards the Al-Azraq area.

According to officials, all incoming missiles were destroyed before reaching their targets. Some debris fell on Jordanian territory, but there were no reports of injuries or property damage.

Jordan stated that its armed forces remain on high alert to protect the country’s airspace and national security.

US Facilities Across Region Reportedly Targeted

Media reports suggest that US military positions in Jordan were also among the intended targets of Iranian missile and drone attacks.

Jordan has long served as an important base for American military operations in the Middle East.

Iran Warns of Further Action

The IRGC claimed that a total of 21 American air and naval bases across the region were targeted. Iran warned that if the United States carries out further attacks, its response would be even stronger.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also urged the United States to leave the Gulf region, saying Iran would respond to any threat against its interests.
