Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has announced he will head back to Pakistan after visiting Oman, state media reported, having just left Islamabad earlier in the day.
The IRNA news agency has reported that Araghchi “is scheduled to visit Pakistan again after completing his trip to Oman and before travelling to Russia”.
Part of his delegation has returned to Tehran “to consult and obtain the necessary instructions on issues related to ending the war,” and is scheduled to rejoin Araghchi in Islamabad on Sunday night.
Diplomacy underway
Araghchi has explained that during his visit to Pakistan, he outlined Iran’s position on a practical and actionable framework to end the war permanently, describing the visit as “very productive.”
Writing on X, Araghchi added that it remains unclear if Washington is “really serious” about diplomatic efforts.
