Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy has temporarily closed the Strait of Hormuz “until further notice”, according to IRIB, Iran’s state broadcaster.
In a statement reported by Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, the IRGC Navy said foreign interference and attempts to set what it called an “illegal route” for shipping through the strait would be met with a firm response.
It said several vessels had ignored warnings to correct their course and move within the approved route.
