Former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has slammed the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, over his proposed condolence visit to states like Plateau and Benue following the current level of insecurity in the country.
Naijaonpoint reports that Oshiomhole, speaking on ‘The Mic On Podcast’ on Sunday, berated Atiku over claims that President Bola Tinubu is not sensitive to the insecurity bedevilling Nigeria.
Oshiomhole also questioned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate about whether proposed condolence visits would end the decade-long insecurity crisis.
The Senator also alleged that the security crisis ravaging the nation started when Atiku was Vice President in former President, Olusegun Obasanjo’s government.
Oshiomhole added that Atiku and other presidential candidates challenging Tinubu’s re-election have no different approach to resolving the lingering security situation.
He said, “The last thing I heard from Atiku was that he would have visited Plateau or Benue. Is paying a condolence visit all that we need to change the security issues?
“They said, oh Tinubu is not sensitive, giving the mood of the nation, he said so so and traveling to so so.. Do you believe that this is at the heart of insecurity? Insecurity started under Vice President Atiku Abubakar.”
