Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has congratulated traditional religion worshippers in the state and across Nigeria on the celebration of this year’s Isese Day.
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting religious harmony and peaceful coexistence among residents of the state.
Adeleke made this known in a congratulatory message on Thursday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, to mark the annual celebration.
The governor said Isese Day remained significant to the identity and spirituality of traditional religion adherents, describing the celebration as an opportunity to appreciate the diversity of faiths in Osun State.
“I honour the rich tradition that defines this celebration, and congratulate every adherent, particularly in Osun State, on this remarkable occasion,” Adeleke said.
He said his administration had continued to respect the different religious beliefs practised by residents, stressing that government programmes were designed to promote unity rather than division.
“As Governor, I have demonstrated deep respect for the diversity in faiths of the people, tailoring our programmes and interventions to unite and not divide,” he added.
Adeleke urged traditional religion worshippers to use the celebration to pray for peace and progress in Osun State and Nigeria.
He also called on adherents to conduct themselves responsibly and ensure that celebrations were carried out peacefully and with moderation.
The governor wished traditional religion worshippers a joyful celebration and assured residents that his administration would remain committed to delivering programmes aimed at improving their welfare.
