Israeli drone strike kills Palestinian as troops extend occupation into southern Gaza

An Israeli drone strike killed one Palestinian and wounded six others early on Friday in Gaza City, while Israeli forces carried out a limited ground incursion east of Khan Younis amid continued occupation across Gaza, according to Palestinian medical and local sources.

Medical officials said Mohammed Tayseer Obeid was killed when an Israeli drone struck an apartment in the Al-Taj building on Al-Yarmouk Street in central Gaza City. Six civilians, including women and children, were wounded in the attack.

A separate Israeli guided missile hit another apartment on Al-Muassasat Street in western Gaza City, though no casualties were reported.

The latest attacks came as Israel continued its aggression despite the ceasefire that took effect on October 10, 2025.

Ground raids and shelling continue

In northern Gaza, Israeli artillery shelled eastern parts of the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood and Jabalia, while military vehicles opened fire in the same areas, local sources said.
