
Award-winning Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has opened up about her admiration for Hollywood actor, Tyler Perry.
In a recent post on X, the actress described Tyler Perry as her role model, noting that she learned a lot from watching his movies, especially his story writing and storytelling.

According to Funke Akindele, over the years she broadened her knowledge, attended workshops, and sharpened her craft through experience.
In conclusion, she expressed gratitude to upcoming filmmakers, stating, “Today, many upcoming filmmakers say they’ve learnt from my work, and I’m truly grateful for that. That’s how creativity is passed on. We learn, we growand we inspire others.Never be ashamed of where you started. Keep learning. Keep growing”.
Funke Akindele Rise To Fame
Funke Akindele rose to fame in 1998 after she landed the role of Bisi in the UNFPA-sponsored sitcom “I Need to Know”, which aired until 2002.
Her portrayal of Bisi made her a household name, and she starred in numerous films, including the iconic “Jenifa” in 2008, which earned her the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
The success of Jenifa led to a sequel, The Return of Jenifa, and a TV series, JJenifa’s Diary, solidifying her position as a Nollywood powerhouse.
