A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has granted social media influencer and self-acclaimed relationship therapist, Blessing Nkiruka Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, bail in the sum of N10 million.
The court, however, ordered that she be remanded in a correctional facility until she meets the conditions attached to the bail.
Justice D.I. Dipeolu gave the ruling on Tuesday during proceedings in the ongoing trial involving the social media personality, who is facing charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Blessing CEO was arraigned over allegations of obtaining N36 million by false pretence and stealing. She pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to her.
During the hearing, her lawyer appealed to the court to allow her remain in the custody of the EFCC while efforts were being made to perfect the bail conditions.
The prosecution counsel opposed the request, arguing that the anti-graft agency could no longer keep her because its detention facility was already occupied.
Following the submissions from both sides, the trial judge directed that the defendant be taken to a correctional centre pending the fulfilment of the bail requirements.
The court fixed June 22, 2026, for the continuation of trial.
According to the charges before the court, the defendant allegedly received N36 million from a woman, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye, between July 14 and July 17, 2024.
The EFCC alleged that the money was collected under the claim that Blessing CEO had the authority to lease out a six-bedroom detached duplex located on Tunbosun Osobu Street in the Lekki area of Lagos.
The complainant was said to have paid the money and even began renovation work on the property before the actual owner surfaced and reportedly removed her from the premises.
The anti-graft agency further accused the defendant of unlawfully converting the money for personal use, an allegation she has denied.
