Early accounts suggest the 39-year-old may have suffered cardiac arrest about five minutes into the second half.
The tragic incident was confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), whose General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, expressed shock over the development.

“This is devastating. I am short of words at this moment. I can only pray that God will grant him eternal rest and also grant his loved ones and the Nigeria football family the fortitude to bear the loss,” Sanusi said during a telephone conversation from Cairo, Egypt.
Born on November 26, 1985, in Kaduna, Eneramo enjoyed a distinguished career both at club and international levels. He earned 10 caps for Nigeria after turning down an opportunity to represent Tunisia.
He made his debut for the Super Eagles in a goalless friendly against Jamaica in London on February 11, 2009. He scored his first international goal months later in a 1-1 draw against the Republic of Ireland, also in London.
Eneramo featured prominently during Nigeria’s 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, including appearances against Kenya and Tunisia. His most memorable moment came in a 2-2 draw against Tunisia in Abuja on September 6, 2009, where he found the back of the net.
At club level, Eneramo built a strong reputation in North Africa and Europe, particularly with Esperance Sportive de Tunis, where he became a fan favourite and earned the nickname “Al Dababa” (The Tank).
He also played in Turkey for clubs such as Besiktas, Sivasspor and Istanbul Basaksehir.
