The incident that occurred on the native wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on August 5, 2025, involving my humble self and ValueJet Airline, was to say the least, unlucky.

Unknown to many, I endure from continual dehydration, and my physician strongly suggested that I stay continuously hydrated. This is why I all the time carry a water flask with me. And opposite to the destructive narrative being circulated in some quarters, the flask I carried on that exact day contained solely water — not alcohol, as wrongly alleged.

For the document, I handed by two safety screenings with the flask empty. The flask was solely stuffed with water on the lounge space, simply earlier than heading to the tarmac. This truth could be verified by the CCTV footage on the airport lounge. More so, I hadn’t even boarded the airplane, not to mention being deboarded.

However, I acknowledge and deeply remorse the considerations that arose from the incident. It was by no means my intention to trigger any disruption or violate aviation protocols in any manner.

My unwavering patriotism and unshaken loyalty to the Federal Republic of Nigeria have by no means been doubtful. Over the years, I’ve persistently used my God-given expertise and platform to advertise the Nigerian model throughout the globe. I might by no means do something to tarnish the picture I’ve constructed over the previous 5 a long time, nor would I knowingly act in a manner that would diminish the status of the nation I really like so dearly.

That mentioned, the incident is sincerely regretted. I stay dedicated to upholding the values and obligations that include being a worldwide ambassador of Nigerian music and tradition.

To the Presidency, Ministry of Aviation, FAAN, NCAA, ValueJet, fellow Nigerians, and my teeming followers internationally who’ve proven nice concern for the reason that incident occurred, I tender my unreserved and heartfelt apology.
