Kefas Clinches APC Governorship Ticket In Taraba

Governor Agbu Kefas has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State ahead of the coming election.

NewsWatch Nigeria reports that the primary election held in the state ended with Kefas defeating his closest challenger, Mu’azu Jaji, by a wide margin. Kefas secured 166,357 votes, while Jaji got 4,110 votes.

After he was declared the winner on Friday evening, the Taraba governor described the primary as a successful democratic process. He called on party members and supporters to put the contest behind them and work together for the progress of the state.

Kefas also expressed appreciation to the leadership of the APC across different levels for supporting his administration and showing confidence in his leadership.

He appreciated the residents of Taraba State for standing by his government and continuing to cooperate with his administration.

The governor said he would continue to focus on leadership built on fairness, humility and service to the people. He added that his government would continue ongoing programmes and policies aimed at improving the lives of residents across the state.

Kefas further promised to build on the achievements already recorded by his administration as preparations for the governorship election continue in Taraba State.
