The Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano, (KHAIRUN) has been awarded a Certificate of Registration by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission as a Data Controller/Processor of Major Importance, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to global best practices in data protection and privacy.
This was contained in a statement issued over the weekend by the Acting Director of Public Relations, Media and Internal Affairs, Jibril Ado Dandawaki.

He commended the University Librarian, Malam Nazir Muhammad, for his “exceptional effort, diligence, and professionalism” in facilitating the successful registration process.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the achievement highlights the importance of teamwork and institutional excellence in advancing the university’s strategic goals. He noted that the recognition would further strengthen KHAIRUN’s reputation as a forward-thinking institution committed to integrity, innovation, and accountability.
