The Vice-Chancellor of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), Kano, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, has inaugurated several strategic committees aimed at strengthening institutional governance and enhancing efficiency in key areas of the university’s operations.
This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Ag. Director of Public Relations, Media and Internal Affairs, Jibril Ado Dandawaki.
According to the statement, the inauguration took place during the Principal Officers’ Meeting as part of the university’s ongoing commitment to improving accountability, efficiency, and excellence in service delivery.
SolaceBase reports that the committees inaugurated include the Student Academic Forum (SAF) Committee, chaired by Professor Salisu Mamman Abdulrahman; the Laboratory Maintenance Committee, chaired by Usman Abubakar Aliyu; the Facility Management Committee, chaired by Musa Mu’awiya Musa; and the Sports Committee, chaired by Yusuf Muhammad.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, while inaugurating the committees, presented their Terms of Reference (ToRs) and emphasized their critical roles in advancing the university’s vision and strategic objectives. He urged members to work closely with their respective chairpersons and ensure effective cooperation in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He noted that the committees are expected to promote academic excellence, improve facilities and laboratory management, strengthen student engagement, enhance sporting activities, and contribute meaningfully to the continuous development of the institution.

In their separate responses, the chairmen of the committees expressed appreciation to the university management for the confidence reposed in them, pledging to work diligently to achieve their mandates in line with the institution’s mission of excellence.
The statement added that the initiative marks another step by KHAIRUN towards strengthening institutional structures and fostering teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement across the university system.
