Former Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has congratulated the Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, and Member representing Lokoja/Koto Federal Constituency, Hon. Danladi Aguye over their emergence as candidates of the All Progressives Congress for the coming 2027 Elections.
In a statement on Friday, the former Minister also congratulated other members of the APC in the State, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Aliyu praised Yusuf on his emergence as the consensus candidate for Lokoja II State Assembly for a second term, describing it as a reflection of his performance and acceptance at the grassroots.
She said: “I warmly congratulate Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf on his emergence as the consensus candidate for Lokoja II State Assembly in his second-term bid. I also extend my heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Danladi Aguye on his endorsement for a second term as the Honourable Member representing Lokoja/Koto Federal Constituency. I equally celebrate all other endorsed candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Kogi State.
“Your emergence underscores the party’s unity, strategic direction, and readiness to consolidate on existing gains for the benefit of our people.”
Aliyu urged the candidates to sustain the values that earned them the endorsements, stressing the need for dedication, humility and commitment to inclusive governance.
She emphasised that the expectations of the people must remain central, noting that leadership should translate into tangible development and improved welfare at the grassroots.
“As we move forward, I urge you all to sustain the spirit of service, humility, and dedication that earned you this endorsement. The trust reposed in you by the party and the people must be matched with renewed commitment to inclusive representation and impactful governance,” the minister added.
She further expressed confidence in their capacity to deepen democratic values and deliver on their mandates, wishing them success in the journey ahead.
