Former Kano State governor and chief of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has denied claims that he’s secretly working the Kano State authorities or dealing with contracts for the administration.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa, Kwankwaso described the allegations as false and baseless, saying he had no purpose to reply to these making an attempt to stir controversy.
“Many people have conspired and said unpleasant things, claiming I’m the one steering the government, that I handle contracts and all sorts of things.
“There is no need for me to respond. With time and patience, people will see for themselves who is truly in charge,” he stated.

He defined that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was rigorously chosen after a lot consideration and stays absolutely in charge of his authorities.
“We did everything with the fear of God. Since the 2019 elections, we searched carefully and found that he was the best candidate. Allah has now blessed him with leadership. He is working, and we have given him the chance to do what is necessary,” Kwankwaso stated.
According to him, his function is proscribed to providing advise and steering at any time when wanted, to not intrude in governance.
“Our position is simple: if he seeks our counsel or advise, we will gladly offer it. And if we notice anything wrong or harmful, we will call his attention to it,” he added.
