The Lagos State Government has begun installing new water pumps at the Iju Headworks and Akute Intakes as part of efforts to increase water production, improve operational efficiency and expand access to potable water across the State.
Announcing the development, the state government said: “The Lagos State Government has commenced the installation of new pumps at the Iju Headworks and Akute Intakes to boost water production, improve operational efficiency and expand access to potable water across the state.”


According to the government, “the upgraded pumps will enhance water abstraction and distribution, strengthening the capacity of the Lagos Water Corporation to deliver more reliable water supply to residents.”
The government added that the project forms part of ongoing investments in water infrastructure under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s7 administration, noting that “the initiative is designed to improve service delivery and expand access to clean water for households and businesses across Lagos State.”
