Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly are participating in the 2026 National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) in Chicago, Illinois, as part of efforts to strengthen legislative capacity and improve governance.
The conference, taking place from July 27 to 29, brings together lawmakers from around the world to exchange ideas, discuss emerging policy issues and explore innovative approaches to lawmaking.
The lawmakers said their participation reflects a commitment to continuous learning and the adoption of global best practices.

“Leadership requires continuous learning and the exchange of ideas that strengthen institutions and improve the lives of our people,” the delegation said.
“It is in this spirit that I am honoured to join fellow legislators at the 2026 National Conference of State Legislatures in Chicago, Illinois, from July 27 to 29, to engage with global legislative leaders and explore innovative approaches to governance,” the statement added.
The lawmakers expressed confidence that lessons from the conference would benefit legislative work in Lagos State.
“The knowledge and perspectives gained from this engagement will enrich our legislative work and reinforce our commitment to effective lawmaking, accountable leadership, and the continued development of Lagos State,” the statement said.
