Lagos residents can now report potholes, refuse heaps, blocked drains and other problems affecting their communities directly to the state government through the Lagos State Citizens Gate platform.
The platform provides residents with a channel to report public complaints and access government services without having to rely solely on informal complaints within their communities.
The state government urged residents to make use of the platform to draw the attention of relevant authorities to issues requiring intervention.
“Pothole on your street? Refuse pile that won’t go away? Blocked drain flooding your road?” the government asked in a message encouraging residents to use the platform.
It added: “You don’t have to just complain to your neighbours; tell us directly.”
According to the government, the Citizens Gate App allows residents to report issues and access government services from wherever they are.
The Citizens Gate team has also informed residents that its email channel is currently available for reports and enquiries.
The government urged Lagosians to play a more active role in addressing challenges in their communities, saying, “Governance works better when you’re part of it.”
Residents can access the Citizens Gate platform through citizensgate.lagosstate.gov.ng/index.php.
The initiative is expected to strengthen communication between residents and government agencies and provide a formal channel for reporting issues requiring government attention.
