Rt Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has declared his intention to contest for the Agege Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.
Obasa announced his decision during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Agege, Lagos, on Tuesday. The speaker said leaders of the APC in Agege had urged him to contest for the seat.
During the meeting, Obasa also appealed to party members to support Ganiyu Egunjobi, former chairman of Agege local government area, who is seeking to represent Agege constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
He also endorsed Azeez Yusuf Ninolowo for the Agege constituency II seat in the Lagos Assembly.
The Speaker urged APC members in the area to support the aspirations of the candidates during the party primaries.
The declaration adds to the growing number of aspirants seeking the APC ticket for elective positions in Agege ahead of the 2027 elections.
Party members and supporters are awaiting the outcome of the screening exercise conducted by the APC for aspirants seeking elective offices.
