French President Emmanuel Macron did not hear the explosions that occurred in the Syrian capital on Tuesday morning, his office said.
Macron was on his way to meet with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa. The French president is the first main EU leader to visit the country since the fall of President Bashar al-Assad.
