A man has raised alarm after allegedly discovering that what was sold to him as granite was actually baked clay.
In a video shared online, he demonstrated the material, insisting that the substance did not match genuine granite and appeared deceptive.
He compared different samples while trying to prove the difference in texture and quality.
Allegation of fake granite materials
The man strongly claimed he was misled, saying the product washed off easily on his hand and showed signs of clay rather than stone.
“You can see this is hard clay now. See, see the way they wash from my hand. See the way they wash from my hand.
You see how plenty this is thing inside something. See, see this is not granite. This is clay. Now, this is granite now. This is normal granite in my hand now. This is granite.

Public concern over building materials
He further warned that many of the white materials being sold may not be genuine granite, suggesting they could be processed clay or low-grade substitutes.
The video has sparked concern online, with viewers questioning the quality control of construction materials being sold in local markets.
